The Eternity Code, Review

31 Mar

The Eternity Code by Eoin Colfer (Artemis Fowl #3)

Plot: When Artemis’ father was healed by fairy magic, something changed. No longer is he a brilliant thief like his son; he’s going straight. And so must Artemis… just after one last job.

Would you recommend this book? Yes. This was my favorite book in the series to date. Better pacing, better action, and better characterization, not to mention the perfect con.

The Arctic Incident, Review

The Arctic Incident by Eoin Colfer (Artemis Fowl #2)

Plot: Artemis Fowl, teenage criminal mastermind, is back. A year after his first escapade involving fairies, he is only smarter than ever. But even he might be challenged to come up with a plan when his father is found in Russia–held by angry mobsters.

Would you recommend this book? No. I started this series with really high hopes, and have quite frankly been disappointed so far. The first one was okay and this one is passable, but there is almost not enough to keep me reading this series.

Artemis Fowl, Review

Artemis Fowl by Eoin Colfer

Plot: Twelve-year-old evil genius Artemis Fowl is onto something…the existence of the fairy folk. Soon, a scheme is hatched that will make him rich beyond his wildest dreams.

It’s hard to know whether to describe this novel as fantasy, science fiction, or crime drama. I liked it, but sometimes the descriptions were a bit much. It is still a good start to this famous series, and I will definitely be reading more.

Would you recommend this book? Yes.
