The Curse of the King by Peter Lerangis & Torstein Norstrand (Seven Wonders, Book 4)

Plot: This fantasy series is about four friends; Jack, Aly, Cass and Marco. They have to find the Seven Wonders of the World before they turn fourteen or they will die. The bad guys, called the Massa, want to find the Seven Loculi (Wonders of the World) before the good guys (from the Karai Institute) because the Massa want to raise the continent of Atlantis.

See Me, Review

See Me by Nicholas Sparks

Plot: At first this book seemed like it would follow the typical Nicholas Sparks format where a guy and a girl with troubled pasts meet and fall in love, but then the past meets up with the present and they have to work their way through something tragic. I’m not saying that that didn’t happen, however in this book, about half of it was filled with  danger from the past as opposed to it just being something that happens at the conclusion.

A chance encounter on a rainy night leads to Colin helping Maria change her tire on a deserted road. With a little detective work from Maria’s younger sister, it turns out that they know each other, and she helps facilitate another meeting between Maria and Colin. Although rocky at first, things start picking up between them, and they share many details from their past. But when Maria starts receiving threatening notes and gifts, she needs to confront some skeletons in her closet before it’s too late.

Would you recommend this book? Yes, but not for younger teens. There are some mature themes.
